Deep Roots: Re-meeting Ruth and Naomi
No matter what stage of life we’re at, our spiritual and emotional roots need to run deep to help us through the ups and downs of our daily lives. If we’re firmly rooted in God and in relationship with one another, we can grow to be the women God created us to be. To gain inspiration for this we journey back in time through the book of Ruth, meeting two incredible women in different stages of life who rooted themselves in God and grew together. Learning from their struggles and their triumphs, we may be surprised, encouraged, a little shocked, but never bored. This isn’t just a Cinderella story!
Loved from the Beginning, Loved Now
What does God think of us as women? With so many conflicting messages in our culture about who we are and who we should be, its difficult to discern what it means to be a woman who seeks God. And in the grind of our daily lives, in thinking about our past and our present, we lose sight of how much God loves us and who he created us to be. We dream small dreams for ourselves and lose sight of the big dreams God has for us.
Because God’s love for us, for all women, is loud and clear through history. The Bible is filled with stories of how God loved, equipped, empowered, strengthened, and helped women. How he time and time again incorporated them into his plan, no matter their background, their social situation, their sins, their gifts. In journeying through the stories of individual women of the Old and New Testaments we can get a clearer picture of how God has a plan, purpose, and deep love for us as he did for these women long ago.
